Pastor Konkel grew up in south Detroit MI where he attended Lutheran schools all the way into college at Concordia University Wisconsin. He was received into Baptism and First Communion at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Southgate MI. After graduating from college, marrying his lovely bride, and working for two years in Baltimore, MD at a Lutheran school, Pastor Konkel was compelled to go to Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne (CTS MDiv alumnus ‘22). He wanted to work with eternally lasting gifts for his neighbor and to better teach the faith to his family.
Pastor thoroughly enjoys playing (much more than watching!) sports of all kinds. He likes being outside, whether hiking, hunting, or playing games with his children. He enjoys life in its various forms, including learning more about God’s members young and old and raising a small orchard and vineyard around the parsonage. He is proud to serve in God’s kingdom among the saints in Bruno and Finlayson.
